(Fortunately, there are legions of cryptic glossaries online, any of which are a great help if you’re getting started.) The PandA is a pleasant variation of a cryptic, with looser rules and a freer spirit, although you can rely on many standard cryptic clue styles making an appearance - homophones, charades, hidden words and so on. Too long! I imagine that the mini has become an outlet for some of the whimsical clues that comprise a PandA, as these inventive grids are called. I was surprised to see that it’s been five years since his last one. He also makes a lot of diverse puzzles, including Puns and Anagrams.
